Risk Assessments/Surveys and Audits

HVCA TR/19 Guide to Good Practice – Cleanliness of Ventilation Systems, also recommends “regular maintenance including inspection, testing and cleaning to determine the cleanliness of mechanical ventilation systems, including keeping records of conditions and any actions undertaken," Approved Code of Practice and Guidance 22(A).

A detailed Risk Assessment Survey forms an important and key part of any Planned Maintenance Programme, and can also identify possible risks and hazards associated with poor quality air hygiene. Recommendations for any subsequent remedial works and future monitoring of the systems may be presented to allow the appropriate and necessary actions. “Every employer shall make suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to the Health and Safety of his employees to which they are exposed whilst at work, and persons not in his employ arising out of or in connection with the conduct by him of this undertaking. "(Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992, Approved Code of Practice and Guidance L21)".
