Risk Assessments

Airmec have a team of fully trained surveyors who undertake risk assessments thus ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety Commission Approved Code of Practice L8:  Legionnaires' disease the control of legionella bacteria in water systems a risk assessment is the first requirement.

The risk assessment is presented as a report including an action list for those with the statutory duty, enabling them to prioritise remedial works to control legionella.  The document includes photographs identifying problem areas, which can then be updated giving pre and post activity comparisons.

To comply with legal duties, employers and those with responsibilities for the control of premises should:

  • identify and assess sources of risk
  • prepare a scheme for preventing or controlling the risk
  • implement, manage and monitor precautions
  • keep records of precautions
  • appoint a person to be managerially responsible
